iTKO Announces Integration of LISA with IBM Rational Software

Help to ease challenges of developing modern applications

On Monday iTKO announced further integrations of their LISA(TM) software with the IBM Rational Software Delivery Platform based on the IBM Jazz platform.

The combined products help to ease the challenges of developing and testing modern applications, including cloud-based services, integration platforms such as IBM WebSphere/MQ, DataPower and many more enabling technologies.

"We are driven to help our customers' teams better collaborate and accelerate the development lifecycle," said Michael Loria, vice president, IBM Rational Business Development. "The combination of IBM Rational and iTKO's LISA solutions allows quality to move upstream in the development process, while helping to mitigate the risks of change and complexity in current software environments."

The iTKO integrations have received "Ready for IBM Rational Software" validation, and are available today for on-premise deployment; iTKO intends to offer the integrations in the cloud later this year. The iTKO solutions currently integrated with IBM Rational Quality Manager, IBM Rational Team Concert, IBM Rational ClearQuest and other IBM software tools include:

-- Integrated Defect Management: Leverages LISA Pathfinder for complete transparency and traceability across all application tiers and technologies to quickly identify root cause defects, streamlines defect collaboration between Development and QA, and automatically generates and publishes detailed regression test suites into IBM Rational platforms, reducing reliance on manual testing efforts and increasing delivered quality.

-- End-to-End Validation: Automated end-to-end, multi-tier validation of technologies across multiple application tiers in a codeless environment. The combination of IBM Rational tools and LISA Test allows unit, functional, regression, system integration, load and performance testing to be automated across heterogeneous applications, allowing automated test coverage for improved quality and greater efficiency.

"By integrating our LISA products with IBM Rational, we are dramatically improving development efficiency for today's distributed, multi-tier software environments, which may cross multiple enterprises and domains," said Shridhar Mittal, CEO of iTKO. "We are excited by the early return on investment our joint customers already realize, which can include a 25% improvement in development productivity, a 25% reduction in infrastructure costs, and a 50% reduction in bugs and performance issues delivered in deployment."

iTKO's LISA product suite eliminates application development constraints using virtual service environments, optimizes discovery and resolution of coding defects, and improves test automation and validation for complex enterprise applications. LISA virtualization and validation solutions also support cloud application development to remove accessibility and capacity constraints in elastic cloud development and test environments.

The latest iTKO integrations to IBM Rational Team Concert and IBM Rational ClearQuest leverage services in those products that are compliant with the Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC) community specification, enabling iTKO to build common integrations at lower cost. "This advance should benefit IBM Rational's Jazz development community and also support the efforts of the open services development movement," said John Michelsen, founder and Chief Scientist, iTKO. "LISA allows the teams that espouse these approaches to gain better transparency into distributed, multi-tier software, which may cross multiple enterprises and domains."
