Selenium is a free Web Application Testing System. It gained lots of
popularity since it is available. It’s integration to FireFox – which
allows instant record/replay as well as the scripting option - makes it a
great tool for functional web testing.
BrowserMob on the other side leverages Selenium by providing an automated
load-testing environment for Selenium scripts all configurable online via a
Web Dashboard.
Tagging Web Requests
In my recent blog post – Get more out of functional web testing: How to
correlate test reports with server side log information? – I discussed the
problem that testing results are usually not linked to the log and
diagnostics information captured by the application under test. The blog
entry offered a way to link the two sides using HTTP Tagging via an HTTP
Proxy. Tagging individual Web Requests allows linking each individual request

Testing is a first-order constituent of SOA governance. Assuring that
services and service infrastructure components meet functional and technical
requirements across lifecycle stages and environments, including production,
is an architectural precept in SOA.
Gone are the days when testing was an isolated hop in the old disjointed
SDLC. You know the one I'm talking about - an architect would design a
component, hand it to developers to develop and they would hand it to testers
to test, and testers, in turn, who would hand it to system administrators to
operate. The components we... (more)
iTKO says HP is going to resell its LISA Virtualize software combined with
HP's quality management, functional and performance testing solutions.
It's supposed to accelerate software testing and reduce the cost of
developing increasingly complex modern applications.
What LISA does is described as application behavior and performance
virtualization.
The widgetry creates on-demand 24/7 virtual test environments.
It's supposed to lower test lab costs by up to 65% and shorten software
release cycles by up to 38% by eliminating the testing constraints caused by
dependent IT resources ... (more)
This is the first of a six part series of posts on how ITKO LISA works across
the Agile life cycle. For years, testing was an siloed activity that used
different and unconnected tools within specific phases of the application
lifecycle. First, a development team would run a suite of JUnit tests as
part of a build process. Then a QA team would manually create and run a suite
of functional tests against a user interface. Performance teams would use a
separate set of load tests to exercise and monitor the completed
application. In this old world, there was not much sharing of inform... (more)
iTKO announced a record year of growth and expansion in 2008. Highlights from
2008 include the release of LISA Virtualize for performance environments,
LISA Eclipse Edition 4.5, and the addition of more than 30 Global 2000
enterprise customers.
"While overall IT spending is tightly controlled during tough economic times,
in our research we have identified certain technology investments that a
business cannot afford to pass up if they are to remain competitive, and
principal among these is virtualization," said Theresa Lanowitz, senior
analyst of voke. "With its new service virtu... (more)
